alone at work

I'm alone today at the front desk. It's kinda weird 'cause I'm used to Joe talking to somebody. He shares the front desk responsibilities with me as there are many for this office of 160 and the thousands of KW employees across the US who at any moment will call in. I also kind of like it! I feel like I have something to prove today, like I can handle whatever is thrown at me (and I know something will be thrown!) There is still alot for me to remember to do, like check the calendars for the conference rooms to make sure they are set up appropriately for whatever meetings may be scheduled. Coincidentally - I need to go set up a bunch of chairs...

Here Come the Horns!

I am so conflicted. I am very excited about the football season that begins tomorrow. However, this was such a busy summer that I feel like I need a break!! I know, I know. Poor me. I didn't have a job for 3 months. I was able to plan a wedding with very little stress. Cody was the best big helper with decision making. We had a beautiful and fun wedding. I have a job now so that takes alot of the burden off him. But all summer long we've been going out of town, hanging out with people, tubing, seeing shows and attending weddings! I'm so tired and all I want to do right now is sit at home and relax. Maybe I'll hang pictures and work on the flower bed in front of the house. However, I do miss going to football games, seeing out of town friends, being in a sea of burnt orange, hearing the fight song (over and over) and sitting inside that amazing stadium to watch the Longhorns play.

See what I mean? My head doesn't make sense!!

Oh, and please don't take this as me not wanting to do anything. I am always up for anything, so don't be afraid to ask.

The Turner Wedding

Best wishes to my brother's best friend, Mav and his wife, Katie who were married Aug. 9th!  Bubba couldn't be there for this occasion because e was preparing to be shipped back to Iraq or Afghanistan the next day.  I'm going to miss him, but we'll all get to see him again in 6 1/2 months.  I can't wait!  Here are a few pictures from his wedding...

Professional pictures update

I talked to the photography studio today about how there are pictures that weren't taken at the wedding and they said that what they typically do in this situation is have the unhappy client talk to the owner.  Well he was in a meeting at the time and they took my number down and said that if I don't hear from him by tomorrow, that I should call back.  Well the guy who I originally booked our pictures with called and asked what the situation is.  He was really nice about my problems that I am having and said he'd talk to the man who shot our wedding.  What we decided to do was re-shoot the pictures.  I was so happy he said that, because that's all I wanted to do a month ago when I knew those pictures weren't taken.  He told me to think about where I'd like to go.  Do you have any ideas of cool places to take pictures around Austin? We have some time to figure it out.  We'll have to rent Cody's shirt, tie and vest again.  I'm cool with that.  Let me know what you think!

Exciting news!

I don't know why I've waited so long to tell y'all as we've been excited for almost a week now!  Cody and I are... proud owners of a 2007 Chevy Silverado!!!  It is our new baby.  We love it as if we had it brand new.  We have tentatively named the truck "Blue" so that we can say, "you're my boy, Blue!"  It is dark blue and has chrome trim.  Right now, while Cody is in Florida for an engineering conference at which he is giving a presentation, it is at the dealership getting a new windshield and a spray in liner for the bed.  I'll post pics when I actually have a good one to show.  We did take one at the dealership when we drove it off the lot, but it's a poor picture of me.

Eek, I'm sorry!

I don't really have an excuse. I have a job now. No biggie. I should still be able to continue writing about what is going on, right? I promise, I'll do better. I sure was on a roll there, huh!

Ok - so about the pictures. We have our proofs posted online now. They are pretty good pics which actually surprised me. My suspicians were correct though. There are no posed pictures of Cody and I. No pics of me in my dress. No pics of my family other than with my parents. No pics of my sisters who worked so hard at the guest book and passing out programs before the wedding started. No pics of me and my sisters. No pics of the wedding party. Very few pics of guests. No pics of the beautiful venue. Do you want me to go on, because I think I could. GRRRR. I have to talk to them soon so I can get a few things straightened out about this. I would be happy to recreate the pictures but Grace is in Virginia and it would be uber dumb to ask her to come back for a photo shoot. Also, it could be difficult to get the wedding party here to retake pictures. And then there would be the costs involved... *sigh* It will work out, I know it will. I hope everyone enjoys the pics!
